Giving the Family Some Space
Every year in late August, my kids go back to school. The last few weeks of the month mark the best chance I have to bond with my family because are schedules conflict so much. I work nights, so dinnertime is really the only chance I get to see them on a regular basis. That’s why I take two weeks off each year and take my wife and kids for a camping excursion in the Great Smoky Mountains.
We’ve learned from experience that after a few nights in the woods we all need our space. Cabin tents are large enough to accommodate six people while still leaving room to breathe. Our cabin tent even features a removable “wall” that separates the interior into two rooms. That way my wife and I can remain separate from the kids, who like to stay up later anyway.
